Hello everyone, I'm downloading the game since it's free this weekend and have been wanting to try it out. However I want to first focus on singleplayer. I've heard it gets tedious in single player though due to crops growing only when you are playing (since it's not an online server) and long taming times. I have seen posts about adjusting the game settings in single player to alleviate alot of the grind and waiting caused by single player games however it seems almost all of these posts are several months old.
Single Player is a Game Mode that allows Survivors to play ARK offline. All features of the online game are present, including mods and one-player Tribes. Screenshots taken via NVIDIA Ansel may only be captured in Single Player. The initial single player setup menu. You may also run a dedicated server from this menu. Before I get into this game for the first time, can you guys please share your recommended settings for a good single player experience? Well if you want to go through most of the content u need to mess with ini`s a bit.
I have 600 hrs of playtime in singleplayer. Originally posted by:Don't go increasing the settings drastically like some recommend. Play it vanilla for a while and get a feel for the game. After you get bored of that you can increase the rates if you want something specific. But starting out with ridiculously high rates takes the fun out of the game and you will never know how it was intended to be played.This. The best part of the game, the time when you will have the most fun is right at the start.
If you set rates too high you will zoom past the best part of the game. That said, there is no joy in a 5 hour single player tame. For XP and harvesting stay at 3 or below, and for taming try 5. You can tweak it as time goes on.
